The Cinematic Orchestra

Lately, I've been so consumed with school work that i've hardly had time to update this thing, but that doesn't mean I haven't had time to listen to music. In fact, there are certain artists that actually give me the motivation to push through my mounds of work- and one of these artists is The Cinematic Orchestra. While I was up until 3am last night working on a screenplay, it was this band that kept my mind flowing. Their music is so soulful and beautiful, I can't help but remember how it was the only thing that kept me grounded during my first stick and poke tattoo last year- It's that powerful. If you've been looking for that perfect study music, or just want something soft and jazzy to relax to, check these guys out. My favorite album of theirs is "Ma Fleur," but also check out "Man with a Movie Camera" and their newest live album at The Royal Albert Hall.

Another one of my favorites by them is "To Build a Home." It's pretty different from the rest of their stuff and kind of sad, but I think it's one of the most beautiful songs. Here's a live version of it because it's just as good, if not better, than the CD version.
