The Books- All Our Base Are Belong To Them

I fell in love with The Books a few years ago after first hearing their strange and distinctive sounds on their albums "The Lemon of Pink" and "Lost And Safe.". I had never heard anything like they're music before and I became intrigued with their unique and compelling sound. Guitarist and vocalist Nick Zammuto and celloist Paul De jong fill their songs with obscure samples of speech and noises found from cassettes, and mix them into a beautiful acoustic instrumentation of folky melodies, guitar, cello, and, the occasional banjo. These two have created their own genre for their playful use of sound, which they called "collage music." The Books are chaotic, yet beautiful and each song has its own unique identity.
Here is one song called "All Our Base Are Belong To Them" off of the album "Thought for Food." You can download the album riiiiigggghht here.
